Immunisations - Babies and Children

It is very important that your child receives a full course of injections against several diseases. Below is the schedule for the course of vaccinations. You will be informed when you child’s vaccination is due.

Schedule


Two Months old

5in1 (DtaP/IPV/Hib) vaccine
This single jab contains vaccines to protect against five separate diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio and Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib, a bacterial infection that can cause severe pneumonia or meningitis in young children)
 
Pneumococcal PCV vaccine
 
Rotavirus Vaccine


Three Months old 5in1 (DtaP/IPV/Hib) vaccine – 2nd dose
Meningitis C
Rotavirus Vaccine – 2nd dose

Four Months old

5in1 (DtaP/IPV/Hib) vaccine – 3rd dose
Pneumococcal PCV vaccine
  - 2nd dose


Between 12-13 months

Hib/MenC – booster

MMR vaccine
Pneumococcal PCV vaccine
 – 3rd dose


2 and 3 years Influenza vaccine (from Sept 2013)

3 years and 4 months
or soon after

MMR vaccine – 2nd dose

4in1 (DtaP/IPV) pre-school booster – given as a single jab, containing vaccines against diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough (pertussis) and polio


Around 12 - 13 years HPV vaccine which protects against cervical cancer (girls only) three jabs given within 6 months

Around 14 years

3in1 (Td/IPV) teenage booster – given as a single jab which contains vaccines against diphtheria, tetanus and polio
Meningitis C - booster
