Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

Healthcare Assistants

Phlebotomist/Health Care Assistant

Gill is a fully trained Healthcare Assistant and is able to take blood, blood pressure, record height and weight, dip test urine samples, carry out INR testing, administer flu, pneumonia & B12 injections. Gill is also trained to carry out Health Checks and in weight management.

Practice Management

The practice manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries.

The practice undertakes antenatal and post-natal care in conjunction with the Community Midwife. Our midwife plays an important role in the antenatal clinics and will also visit you at home after the baby is born. Health Visitors

Our Health Visitors can offer you advice in community clinics or your own home. They are mostly involved with the care of under fives and expectant mothers. They run developmental checks and perform sight and hearing tests.

Baby clinics are held at Westborough Children’s Centre Green Way ME16 8QH Wednesday 09:15 – 11:30 and Friday 13:30 – 15:00 . You may attend any other Children's’ Centre and details are available from the surgery or www.kentchildrenscentres.org.uk/eastborough.
